JSS Medical College, is located in a sprawling 43 acre campus in Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara, Mysore City, which is about 140 Km from Bangalore. The city is famed for its educational institutions, salubrious climate and beautiful gardens. The college which was started in 1984 has been designed and equipped for dispensation of quality medical education. The institution is backed by highly qualified and experienced staff, well equipped laboratories, library, and modern teaching aids.
The graduate and post-graduate programs of the college are recognized by the Medical Council of India. The courses offered are also recognized by General Medical Council (UK), Sri Lanka Medical Council and WHO. The college has been recognized by the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, UK, for the award of MRCOG.
The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka during 1995-1996.
After the formation of JSS University (Established under Section-3 of UGC Act) JSS Medical College has become a constituent college of the JSS University from the Academic year 2008-2009.
J.S.S. Medical College, Mysore, was started in 1984-85 and is imparting education in medical sciences (MBBS) course. It is recognized by the Medical Council of India and was affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore from 1995-1996. The JSS Medical College since its inception in 1984 – is dedicated to serving society as a center of excellence with emphasis on socially meaningful medical education, research and health care. The college has emerged as a pioneer in the state of Karnataka by providing medical and health care programs through internationalization, innovation in academic and research studies. The college offers undergraduate course in medicine (M.B.B.S) and postgraduate degree (M.D/M.S) and diploma programmes in 20 medical disciplines. The sanctioned annual intake to the M.B.B.S programme is 200. The college is offering Mc.h Urology, DM Gasteroentrology, DM Neurology. The college is also conducting course for B.Sc., in Respiratory Care Technology and M.Sc., (Psycho Social Rehabilitation) The courses offered are a perfect blend of community oriented, problem based learning with high quality clinical reasoning. The college provides M.Sc.,/ Ph.D., and M.D.,/ Ph.D., programmes in some subjects such as Physiology, Anatomy, etc., to encourage research in these basic subjects.

Our Campus
J.S.S Medical College is located in an area of about 43 acres in ‘Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara’ at Mysore. Mysore city is about 140 km from Bangalore (the capital city of Karnataka). Mysore is a centre for educational institutions. The worldfame city is known for its evergreen, beautiful, eyecatching gardens blended with a salubrious climate. The ideal environment is best suited for the pursuit of education.
The college has altogether a newly constructed building with an area spread across 1,53,000 sq.fts. The fully equipped Pre-clinical and Para-clinical departments along with museums are an added advantage in the building. In addition to this the building has 7 lecture halls, 1 spacious library and 1 large auditorium. The administrative section is located on the ground floor.
Bharath Hospital & Cancer Research Centre, Mysore, is associated with the college and is facilitating the services to the needed and the poor at a larger proportion. Bharath Hospital has a well-planned, nicely built infrastructure in an area of about 9 acres. The unit has a whole body CT Scan, Cobalt radiation unit and all the modern facilities. The students of J.S.S. Medical College are making use of all the advantages that are blended with a sisterly concern.
The College campus also houses 5 blocks of boys hostel including many facilities for the under-graduates, post-graduates and the intern students with the accommodating capacity for nearly 500 members. There is a separate hostel for women with the accommodating capacity for nearly 400 candidates.

Educational Requirements MBBS 2020-21 Qualifying examination
The candidates should have passed the Two year PUC examination conducted by the PUC Board of Karnataka State with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as optional subjects OR any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Mysore University / Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, like,
Pre-degree of Kerala and Calicut.
Higher Secondary Certificate of Maharashtra.
Intermediate examination of Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and other states where the 12 years course is prevailing.
All India Senior School Certificate examination (12 Years) Central Board of Secondary Examination, New Delhi.
B.Sc Examination from an Indian University provided that he or she has passed the B.Sc examination having studied not less than two of the subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English provided that the candidate should have secured not less than 50% of the total marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. These subjects should be taken together at the qualifying examination.

Minimum Marks
The minimum marks required for the admission should be 50% in PUC (PCB) or any other equivalent examination for the candidates of General Category. For the candidates belonging to SC/ST, the minimum percentage of marks required for the admission process should be 40% in PCB. Preference will be given to the merit students.
