Philippines has developed the education system, similar to the USA. Thus after High School (Grade 10) the students join a Bachelors Degree. Those who want to study Medicine does the Pre-Medicine in Bachelor of Science in Biology, Medical Technology, Nursing,Pyschology, Pharmacy or Physiotherapy. After which they sit for National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) exam then they enroll for 4 years medical course known as Doctor of Medicine (MD). The MD degree awarded in USA / Philippines is equivalent to MBBS of UK / Commonwealth Countries. Philippines is the world’s Second largest exporter of Physicians after India.
All our partner universities are recognized by Commission on Higher Education and Development (CHED), World Health Organization (WHO) and listed in International Medical Education Directory (IMED), Education Commission For Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Thus the students are eligible to sit for USMLE and they may appear for Part 1 and 2 in the Philippines. Most medical institution follow the American Style PBL Curriculum. Doctor of Medicine (MD) is recognized by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council, Medical Council of India, Malaysia Medical Council, Nepal Medical Council, Pakistan Medical & Dental Council and other medical councils upon passing the required Screening Tests.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Philippines is the only recognized primary qualification by any medical council. It is the only recognized medical qualification as a medical practitioner of the Philippines.
A Special Educational Package has been designed by partner universities represented by Finix India. in Philippines for Asian / Commonwealth students to decrease the time of study in the Bachelors Program to 12-16 months instead of 4 years.
Students who have 10+2 or Higher Secondary Certificate will get partial credit exemption of about 80 credit units from the Bachelors Degree. They will study for an additional 80 – 90 credit units in the Accelerated / Fast Track Bachelors Program. Mean while they will also study and get trained to take NMAT as required by CHED. Students just need to pass the exam. It is only to determine the percentile rate. Then they will enroll Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.
Eligibility Requirement & Admission Procedure
All the students with 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as specialization with at least 50% for open category and 45 % for OBC are eligible to study medicine in Philippines. Students have to undergo a pre-medicine course of 1 month before commencing the medicine in Philippines. On successful completion of this course, students will be awarded a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Then they will have students to qualify the National Medical Aptitude Test (NMAT) conducted by the government of Philippines. The candidate will then be eligible to get admitted into the medical schools to study medicine in Philippines. Educational Programs:
* For 10 + 2 equivalent students 12-16months of Pre-med ( BSc Biology / Medical Technology/psychology ) + 4 Years of Doctor of Medicine (MD).
The total duration for Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) will be for 5 years and on completion the students will be awarded BSc in Biology / Medical Technology and Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) which will be equivalent to MBBS.
* For 10 equivalent 3 Years of Pre-med (Any Allied Medical Courses – BSc) + 4 Years of Doctor of Medicine (MD).
The total duration for Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) will be for 7.5 years and on completion the students will be awarded BSc in Biology / Medical Technology and Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) which will be equivalent to MBBS.
Eligibility For Medical Courses:
For 10 / 10 + 2 equivalent 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English

Transfers
The special package for transfer students is focused for Medicine programs. This is to serve student who are studying in Universities in Russia, Ukraine, China and other non English speaking countries but offering programs in English.
The quality of education in some countries are just so bad that the professors just cant teach in English or the students are not able to pick up local languages to speak to patients or life is hard for them in the place where they are studying.

Visa Information
The student visa is issued in Philippine embassies/consulates abroad. It is not issued in the Philippines.
The student visa is initially valid for one year. It is renewable every succeeding semester.
Exchange Student Visa – 47(a) (2)
47(a)(2) visas are issued to officially designated exchange professors, researchers, and students coming from foreign universities with an existing Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the University of the Philippines
47(a)(2) visas are valid until the end of the exchange agreement or scholarship contract
The visa is generally processed and issued here in the Philippines. It can also be issued through Philippine embassies or consulates abroad
It can be renewed if the scholarship or agreement is extended for a definite period of time Exchange fellows and students are requested to immediately report to the OSA upon arrival in Philippines.
Procedure for visa application
Step 1: When a school’s requirements are met it sends a Notice of Acceptance (NOA) to the student. A duplicate copy is submitted to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), together with the certified true copy of CHED-CEA when necessary. For quota courses such as medicine and dentistry, a certificate of eligibility for admission (CEA) is also issued by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Step 2: The department of foreign affairs endorses documents to the Foreign Service Post (FSP) located in the student’s country of origin/place of legal residence for the issuance of the student visa.
Step 3: The Philippine Embassy or consulate notifies you in writing to appear in person for an interview and bring all the required documents.
Step 4: Upon receiving the letter from the Philippine Embassy/Consulate, you will have to make an appointment to appear for an interview at the consulate or embassy.

Original Notice of Acceptance (NOA) and when appropriate, the CEA
